public final class EthiopianCalendar extends AbstractEpagomenalCalendar
The Ethiopian calendar, the official calendar of Ethiopia: twelve thirty-day months and a thirteenth epagomenal month, Pagumen, of five days (six in a leap year), named in Amharic from መስከረም through ጳጉሜ, over a seven-day week. It runs some seven to eight years behind the Gregorian calendar, shares the Coptic structure but counts from a later era, and is a national and liturgical calendar, not an individual's invention. A year is a leap year when it is congruent to three modulo four -- the year before a Julian leap year -- so the epagomenal month then runs six days and the calendar stays in step with the Julian; a common year is 365 days and a leap year 366. The epoch is 29 August AD 8 on the Julian timeline (Julian Day 1723856). Its calendar type is CalendarTypes.ETHIOPIAN, and it is paired with UTCTimeDefinition.
