The ancient Armenian calendar: like the Egyptian, twelve months of
thirty days and five epagomenal days, a fixed 365-day year with no leap,
so its new year wandered against the seasons. It was the calendar of
medieval Armenia, its era beginning in AD 552.
The months run Նաւասարդ (Navasard) through the Աւելեաց (epagomenal days)
over a seven-day week. Every year is 365 days. The epoch is 11 July AD
552 (Julian Day 1922503).
Its calendar type is
AncientCalendarTypes.ARMENIAN,
and it is paired with MeanSolarTimeDefinition.- See Also:
